Creating the Powerful Green Map
Dreamt up during the Great Blackout of 2003 and completed during the NYC Transit Strike of 2005, energy moved to the forefront of local and global concerns about the sustainability* of our way of life during this period. We made this map to present the critical reasons to act now, alongside practical and cutting edge solutions available NOW to everyone in NYC.
NYC has a remarkable opportunity to become one of the most eco-efficient cities in the world, but only if every citizen, enterprise and agency gets involved.
Take Charge, NYC!
Our goal with this Powerful Green Map is to engage you in taking more steps towards energy conservation every day - by knowing more, using less, employing decentralized generation technologies and reducing the impacts on our health, our climate and our economy. Together, we can do it - and you know what they say - if you can do it in NYC, you can do it everywhere. Your small steps, everyday, make a really powerful difference.
The most important form of renewable energy is human power!
