The Compost Green Map of Manhattan, also known as “Worms in the Green Apple!” is all about composting, its advantages and the composting sites in Manhattan. The second edition of this popular map was published in Fall 2007.
Composting is the most sustainable kind of recycling!
Created by Green Map System and Lower East Side Ecology Center, this map was originally designed by our summer intern Anya Farquhar and Jane Barber of Jane Barber Design in 2006. We quickly ran out of copies, and edition 2 was designed by Risa Ishikawa in 2007. Supported by New York City Environmental Fund and another long-time supporter, copies are free (see below for details).

Print Edition
Compost Green Maps were printed by Rolling Press in Brooklyn on 100% recycled paper! Green Map, Rolling Press and Mohawk, our New York paper company all offset, so this is our first Wind-Powered Green Map!
