So far, this map has been covered online and in print - click the link to go directly to the article at Grist.org and Treehugger.com. It's also in Waterwire.net (see below), Positive News (US & UK editions), the youth-oriented Go Wild In New York, plus there have been mentions in The Villager, AmPm, Downtown Express, and Gotham Gazette. It was also an example used in the Pattern Language Project.
Because of this map, Green Map took part in the 2006 OHNY Weekend, offering free bicycle tours, as well as Bike Month 2006 and 2007. Find currently scheduled events here.
The first article was online in Waterwire.net's website, click here for the full story, here is an excerpt:
"The map highlights projects like the Staten Island Ferry Terminal's rooftop solar panels, which supply part of the terminal's electricity, and "radiant floors," which warm the terrazzo floor from below with water-filled tanks. In the Bronx, green locations like Friends of Brook Park and Environmental Construction Outfitters are highlighted. Brawer states, that the maps allow the user to take "a green journey" throughout New York City. From the Solar Powered Cafe at Habana Outpost in Brooklyn to the Build it Green Warehouse in Astoria the maps are about getting New Yorkers to make every day easy choices which affect their energy investments. For the hand propelled boater the map lists all the community boat access sites." Thanks to Loren Talbot at Metropolitan Waterfront Alliance
