Green Apple Travelogues
Enjoy this tour on-screen or by actually following the route around downtown!

This section is in its original 1999 configuration, though content has been gently updated since the turn of the century! In 2005, Pace University students added their own downtown and Governor's Island tours too.

Downtown Tourist Green Map Introduction

If some sites are no longer open, we're sorry but cannot be held responsible for the ever-changing landscape of the Green Apple. And if you decide to bicycle, skate or walk our tour, do so at your own risk. We recommend helmets, lights and bells for NYC's crowded streets. And if you want to experience the city on bikes or skates with a large group, join the monthly Critical Mass traffic calming ride, 7 pm, Union Square north, last Friday of each month (see TIME'S UP! for details of this and other great rides).

Credit goes to Emma-MacGregor Mento - this is her first website! And Beth Ferguson, photographer and tour co-guide, both were interns at Green Map System when this was created in 1999. We're pleased to add more student made travelogues, contact us if you would like to get involved!
