Downtown Tourist Green Map Introduction
Several sites are no longer open due to the ever-changing landscape of the Green Apple. And if you decide to bicycle, skate or walk our tour, do so at your own risk. We recommend helmets, lights and bells for NYC's crowded streets. And if you want to experience the city on bikes or skates with a large group, there are great group rides at the (see Times's UP! or 5 Borough Bike Club online calendar or check Streetsblog for advocacy and events.
Credit goes to Emma-MacGregor Mento - this is her first website! And Beth Ferguson, photographer and tour co-guide, both were interns at Green Map System when this was created in 1999. We're pleased to add more student-made travelogues, podcasts and videos, contact us if you would like to get involved!
Many thanks to all the volunteers, interns, consultants and staff who have created and updated these websites over the years!
